Eligibility:
This show is open to all Long Island and New York artists working in all media ( Drawing, painting, photography, Digial, Collage, Mixed Media and Sculpture)
Framed (ready to hang) Artwork must not exceed “36 x 36”

REBELLION AS MOTIVE
From the earliest of times, rebellion has been one of man’s most powerful motives. Culturally, rebellion can inspire a revolution. Politically, when groups rebel, they can reshape a society. When one rebels against dogma, a new level of spirituality becomes accessible. Art that is testimony to any type of rebellion can inspire both intellectual and emotional changes.
Humankind is forever dancing with rebellion vis-à-vis art, either celebrating it (as in films like Rebel Without a Cause) or by cautioning against it, as images in media show leaders scourging their own people. The “Rebellion as Motive” show is intended to be an exhibition of works that convey the wide-ranging attitudes for and against rebellion. Individual pieces may portray an example of rebellion, an inspiration for rebellion and even a scene or result of a rebellion. Art may be either specific and literal, or abstract and metaphorical.
Prizes:
First, Second and Third Prize has image of winning piece published in
October issue of Long Island Pulse in print and on line along with artist information.
Entry Fee:
Entry Fee: $25 for 2 works and $5 each extra submission.
How to Submit:

1. Signed and completed entry form.
2. $25 entry fee for 2 images + $5 for each additional image.
3. Email images in correct horizontal or vertical orientation for viewing.

The artist is responsible for the cost of shipping work to and from Art That Matters. We are unable to pick up or drop off work at shipping centers. All work must be shipped or delivered directly to:

Artists shipping their work must include a prepaid bar-coded return Label. You must have-or set up an account with a valid credit card to ship with most carriers.
***Please note that the gallery is not responsible for the handling of artwork during Shipment. If you are concerned with the safety of your work during transport, please arrange for insurance with your shipping carrier.****
All work must be shipped or hand delivered during our receiving hours.
Monday-Friday 11-5 PM.
Work which does not follow display and shipping requirements or which does not arrive in good condition will not be hung.
Please note that we reuse your packing materials to repack your work. Please pack your work with enough material to ensure safe return shipping. Please REFRAIN FROM USING PACKING PEANUTS OR SHREDDED PAPER: they are messy and ineffective at protecting Artwork.
