24 Pieces in 24 Hours

A different kind of ArtWalk

This month's Oyster Bay ArtWalk has something a bit different happening. On Thursday, August 5th, at Art (that matters) artist Kara Raphael will commence '24 pieces in 24 hours.' This marathon art making session is exactly what it sounds like: 24 pieces of original art created starting at 10am on the 5th, and ending at 10 AM on the 6th.

Can Kara do it? Will she fall asleep face down in her oil pastels? Will you come at 7pm on the 5th to check in on Kara's progress? Will you celebrate her success the morning of the 6th with a nice cup of coffee? Come by ATM this Thursday and find out!

  Join ART(that matters) on the first Thursday of Every Month for new art, light fare and great conversation.  Oyster Bay galleries and restaurants are open late on the first Thursday of each month to host the Oyster Bay Art Walk.  Visit ART(that matters), Chase Edwards, Atellier and The Teaching Studios of Art along with Oyster Bay restaurants from 7-9 PM. The Augst Artwalk features Kara Raphael making 24 pieces in 24 hours.

The exhibition is curated by Nada Marjanovich, the Editor and Publisher of Long Island Pulse Magazine. The the theme of this year's Anniversary Show is 'Time' - how appropriate.
